Itinerary
Day 1FridayDubrovnik (Embarkation)D
Individual journey to Dubrovnik, where check-in is at Gruz, the town port. In the late afternoon there is a guided tour of Dubrovnik covering the city's history and its most striking sights. The ship stays overnight in Gruz, leaving the evening free to enjoy the city.
Day 2SaturdayDubrovnik to Sipan and MljetBD
We cross to nearby Sipan, largest of the Elaphiti Islands and still modest in size, for a first short ride and a chance to settle into riding as a group. Afterwards we sail on to Mljet, the most forested island in the Mediterranean with 70 percent of its land under woodland, and the island Homer made the home of the nymph Calypso, who kept Odysseus here for seven years. Arriving at Pomena, we ride a round tour through Mljet National Park. Approx. 11 km plus 30 km.
Day 3SundayLastovo and KorculaBD
The morning crossing takes us to Lastovo, one of the smaller inhabited islands in the Adriatic. Emperor Augustus admired its mild climate and in Roman times it was named Augusta Insula after him. Today's ride crosses the island, where the golden Marastina white wine is grown. Back on board we sail to Korcula, widely held to be one of the loveliest islands in Dalmatia, for the night and a guided city tour of the town that competes with Venice as Marco Polo's birthplace. Approx. 28 km.
Day 4MondayKorcula: Korcula town to Vela LukaBD
A long ride the length of Korcula, with a mild Mediterranean climate and a constantly changing landscape. Take time to stop for the view over deep blue water to the neighbouring islands. Dinner is served on board to restore us after an active day, and the night is spent in the sheltered bay of Vela Luka. Approx. 60 km.
Day 5TuesdayHvar: Hvar town to Stari GradBLD
The day opens with a cruise to Hvar town, with time to stroll before the ride begins and to look up from the Renaissance square to the Spanish Fortress above. The route climbs through small villages and lavender fields to Stari Grad on the far side of the island, and the descent offers wide views. We board for lunch, and the afternoon is free to explore the artistic seaside town and its galleries and museums. Approx. 22 km.
Day 6WednesdayHvar: Stari Grad, Jelsa, then BracBLD
A scenic morning ride from Stari Grad to the harbour at Jelsa and back, with ice cream and coffee before returning through Vrboska and the ancient Greek plains, now a protected UNESCO site. Back in Stari Grad we board for lunch and cruise to Brac, famous for the radiant white limestone used in part for the White House in Washington and the Reichstag building in Berlin. A swim stop from the ship is possible before we arrive at Milna for the afternoon and evening. Approx. 22 km.
Day 7ThursdayBrac: Milna to Postira, then TrogirBD
Today's ride follows the northern coast of Brac from Milna to the harbour town of Postira, with beautiful views across the Dalmatian islands and over to the mainland. Then, for the last time this week, we cruise to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Trogir. An afternoon guided city tour uncovers the town's layered history, and a celebratory dinner on board closes the week. Approx. 30 km.
Day 8FridayTrogir (Disembarkation)B
One final breakfast onboard. Check-out of your cabin by 9am.
