Seven nights among the quieter southern Dalmatian islands, from the UNESCO-listed old town of Trogir to the walls of Dubrovnik. Alongside Brac, Hvar and Korcula the route reaches little-visited Lastovo and gives a full afternoon to the woodland trails of Mljet National Park. Guided city tours in Trogir, Korcula and Dubrovnik, swim stops and lunch on board on the longer days. Daily climbs are gentler than on the Deluxe route, at roughly 200 to 500 metres.

Itinerary

Meal legend:D DinnerB BreakfastL Lunch
Day 1FridayTrogir (Embarkation)D

Individual journey to Trogir. Check-in on board begins at 1:00 pm. Afterwards there is a guided walking tour of Trogir, whose historic old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, taking in the town's history and its most important landmarks. The first night is spent in Trogir.

Day 2SaturdayTrogir to Brac: Milna, then HvarBD

Our first cruise takes us to the island of Brac, famous for the radiant white limestone used in part for the White House in Washington and the Reichstag building in Berlin. On Brac we cycle a panoramic round tour from the harbour town of Milna. Back on board we sail to Stari Grad on the island of Hvar for the night. Approx. 32 km.

Day 3SundayHvar: Stari Grad to Hvar town, then KorculaBD

Today's ride crosses Hvar from Stari Grad to the island capital, through untamed lavender fields and small villages with wide views along the Dalmatian coast. There is time to stroll through Hvar town and look up to the Spanish Fortress above the Renaissance square before we board for lunch and cruise to Vela Luka on Korcula for the night. Approx. 22 km.

Day 4MondayKorcula: Vela Luka to Korcula townBD

A long, spectacular ride the length of Korcula, through a mild Mediterranean landscape that changes constantly, with views over deep blue water to the neighbouring islands. Korcula town, with its fishbone alleyways, competes with Venice for the honour of being Marco Polo's birthplace. We spend the night here and join a guided city tour full of local history. Approx. 60 km.

Day 5TuesdayKorcula to LastovoBLD

We leave busy Korcula for the quiet of Lastovo, pausing for a swim from the ship and lunch on the way before setting off to explore by bike. Lastovo is one of the smaller inhabited islands in the Adriatic; Emperor Augustus admired its mild climate and in Roman times it was named Augusta Insula after him. Its 800 or so residents still live mainly from fishing, farming and wine, including the golden Marastina white. The night is spent in a secluded natural harbour. Approx. 28 km.

Day 6WednesdayMljet National ParkBLD

Breakfast is taken under way on the cruise to Mljet, the most forested island in the Mediterranean with 70 percent of its land under woodland. Homer made it the home of the nymph Calypso, who kept Odysseus here for seven years. After a swim stop and lunch on board we arrive at Pomena and spend the afternoon riding a round tour through Mljet National Park. The night is spent in Pomena. Approx. 30 km.

Day 7ThursdayMljet to DubrovnikBD

From Pomena we ride the length of this green island in the shade of the trees, rejoining the ship at Sobra for the last crossing of the week to Dubrovnik. On arrival there is plenty of time to explore the UNESCO World Heritage city and join a guided city tour. A celebratory dinner on board closes the week with fellow travellers and guides. Approx. 33 km.

Day 8FridayDubrovnik (Disembarkation)B

One final breakfast onboard. Check-out of your cabin by 9am.
