This seven night round trip from Dubrovnik is built for travellers who want the Dalmatian islands at a slower pace than a large ship allows, and who want a second country on the same booking. The yacht carries a maximum of 34 guests in 17 ocean view cabins, with roughly one crew member for every two guests, so the daily rhythm is set by the anchorage rather than by a schedule of tender queues.
The route leaves Gruz Port in Dubrovnik and turns northwest to the Elaphiti Islands, where the first swim stop is taken directly from the yacht in the sheltered water off Sipanska Luka. From there it runs to Mljet, one of the greenest of the Croatian islands, with the entrance to Mljet National Park and its salt lakes included, and an evening free to eat ashore in Pomena. Korcula follows, the walled town widely held to be the birthplace of Marco Polo, with an optional afternoon in the Lumbarda vineyards where the rare Grk grape is grown.
What separates this itinerary from the standard Dalmatian week is the pair of islands in the middle. Lastovo is a nature park, more than seventy per cent forested, quiet even in August, and rarely served by the larger cruise operators. Vis was closed to foreign visitors for decades as a military zone and has kept an authenticity that shows in Komiza, the fishing town where the yacht stays overnight. Hvar and the Pakleni Islands supply the glamour, with an included guided walk through the town.
The final full day crosses into Montenegro and sails into the Bay of Kotor, a mountain-walled inlet that looks nothing like the open Adriatic behind it, with an included guided walk through the UNESCO listed old town before the farewell dinner and the overnight passage back to Dubrovnik. Fourteen meals are served on board, with a glass of wine, beer or a soft drink included at every lunch and dinner.
Route: Dubrovnik - Elaphiti Islands - Mljet - Korcula - Lastovo - Vis - Pakleni Islands - Hvar - Bay of Kotor - Dubrovnik
