A morning of cruising north with a swim stop and lunch on board. Primosten sits on a small headland that was an island until the causeway was built, its stone houses stacked around a hilltop church. The dry-stone walled vineyards on the slopes behind the town are on the UNESCO tentative list and produce the local Babic red. Overnight in Primosten.

Up the Krka estuary to Skradin, the gateway to Krka National Park, with a park boat to Skradinski Buk, the widest of the falls, where seventeen cascades drop through travertine terraces. Entry is paid on the spot. Lunch on board, then down to Sibenik, the oldest town on the coast founded by Croats rather than Greeks or Romans, with the UNESCO-listed Cathedral of St James built entirely of stone without mortar. Into the Kornati archipelago, 89 islands and reefs of bare white karst that George Bernard Shaw described as a labour of the gods. Park entry is paid on the spot. On to Telascica nature park on Dugi Otok, with cliffs dropping 160 m to the sea on the seaward side and the warm saltwater lake of Mir on the other. Swim stop and time ashore. The Captain's Dinner with live music is served on board. Overnight at anchor or in a nearby port.

North to Losinj with a swim stop and lunch on board. Mali Losinj wraps around a deep sheltered bay and grew rich on shipbuilding and long-haul sail trade in the 19th century, which is why the waterfront is lined with captains' villas. The island is planted with more than a thousand imported species and the air is heavy with pine and aromatic herbs. Overnight in Mali Losinj.

South again to Zadar with a swim stop on the way. Three thousand years of layers here: the Roman forum, the round 9th century church of St Donatus built from its stones, and on the waterfront the Sea Organ, which plays as the swell pushes air through pipes under the steps, next to the Greeting to the Sun. Overnight in Zadar.

A morning call at Vodice, a easygoing resort town with a long waterfront and a busy evening promenade, then lunch on board on the last leg south to Trogir. Afternoon arrival leaves time for the marble streets, the loggia and the harbour front. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Trogir.
